An Introduction to SignalR
SignalR is one of the new tricks in the
Microsoft web stack. Think about the possibilities available to you
in a browser when you've got constant, server-initiated
conversations and real-time responsiveness from within the web
browser (like chat, stock updates, publish/subscribe
implementations, push notifications, and so on). Brady Gaster will
introduce you to SignalR and will walk through the process of
setting up an MVC 3.0 application to work with SignalR using both
it's Hub and Connection methodologies. Using numerous practical and
easy-to-digest demonstrations, this session will demystify SignalR
and show you how to use it today in your application development.
It may also inspire you to crack open and rewire some old
applications and refactor them to support real-time
functionality.
